Community Planning

The South Downs Partnership Management Plan sets out a commitment to support community-led plans and initiatives which enhance the towns, villages, and landscapes of the South Downs National Park (see Partnership Management Plan Outcome 9.2 and Policy 34).

The South Downs National Park includes 176 town and parish councils (either wholly or partially within the National Park) and many active community forums, groups, and parish meetings.

These bodies can utilise a range of community planning tools to explore the needs for their areas, set priorities for their areas, and develop policies, actions, and guidance to influence change in their areas.  These community planning tools include:
